Updating tom tom go
I understand that if it needs sorting out then it has to go back to the manufacturer.
Bought a go730 (a week ago) which came with 2009 Australian Map V815used map guarantee to check for new map and it says I have the latest map for my device so there is apparently no new map.
So there should be a way to update the map without coming out of pocket every year.
The really funny thing is that I got mine about 1.5 years ago and the maps were about 3 years old if not more. Which they probably charge the owner of a business to have his address and number available for the consumer that has this line of GPS available?
It worked so well for a week or two that I actually got to my intended destinations without turning down a single (spurious) cul-de-sac. Not particularly worried by this as it's just a basic computer, should be easy enough to put right, I went to find the appropriate support page so that I could either find a manufacturer's patch to solve the problem or reload the software if necessary.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
New users get to try the service completely Free afterwhich it costs per call and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones). Make sure you: - Have updated to last navcore v7 version - Have updated Tom Tom Home to latest version Then buy and upgrade map through Tom Tom Home... ID=3&Language=1 Even when you do that it doesn't really update it just updates the software so that it looks like you can update the maps but when you touch to update it just tells you, you have to get an updated map for about 0.00 US.
So you can't have the SD act as supplemental memory.
I had the same problem and was pretty peeved about it.
